THE
City of Invercargill Caledonian Pipe Band is going for
gold after
launching its debut CD, Pipin ' Hot, last night.
Named after the stage show that has drawn audiences of
thousands during the past five years, the CD features
pipe band versions of songs such as Calypso, Sailing and
When the Pipers Play.
Shannon Cooper-Garland sings with the band on some tracks.
The CD was recorded in Invercargill and the final mastering
done in Sydney.Band president Neville Cook said the ambition
now was to be the first pipe band in New Zealand to have
a gold record. Several hundred copies of the CD had already
been sold.
