ORGANISERS
of this week's Pipin ' Hot 3 in Invercargill will stage
a seventh concert to cater for audience demand.
The extra concert in the City of Invercargill Caledonian
Pipe Band production will be at the Civic Theatre on Saturday
afternoon.
The band had originally scheduled five performances and
last week added another at 7.30pm on Sunday. Tickets to
all shows had virtually sold out so the band yesterday
decided to add the seventh show on Saturday afternoon.
"The response has been incredible," pipe major
David Pickett said.
He promised an unforgettable performance.
"It'll blow your socks off."
The shows would combine elements of new and old to accommodate
all audience tastes, he said.
A cast of about 80 will take to the stage at the Civic
Theatre in Invercargill tonight for the first two-hour
performance after weeks of r
ehearsals.
Now opening night had arrived, the performers just wanted
to get on with the job and have a good time doing it,
Mr Pickett said.
Tickets for the extra concert go on sale today at the
civic administration building in Esk Street.
