VICTORIA
(Canada) _ The City of Invercargill Caledonian Pipe Band
begins
ts journey to Nova Scotia tomorrow , leaving behind new
fans in Victoria, Vancouver Island.
The band's commitments in Victoria finished on Monday
(NZ time) with the grand finale concert of the military
Bandfest it had been invited to take part in.
The Pipin ' Hot show last week was the opening act for
the event. It was followed by the military music and marching
spectacular at an indoor ice hockey arena.
The band's marching routine earned rousing applause. It
also combined with pipe, brass and reed bands from Canada
and the United States for the massed band performances.
Today the band moves back to mainland Canada with a free
day in Vancouver.
It then sets off on the seven-hour flight to Halifax,
Nova Scotia, on
Canada's east coast tomorrowfor the Nova Scotia International
Tattoo. It opens for a 10-day season on June 29.
